불고기…김치…비빔밥! Bulgogi…Kimchi…Bibimbap! (1st Story)

ㅋㅋㅋHello!!! It has been almost a week since the last post. *Weeeeee…* Haha!!! I am feeling so happy today!!! I am down to my 2nd last paper and i can feel the air or liberation drawing near!u!! Tonight’s Hyun Joong’s Taiwan Fan Meeting~ There’re two shows!!! I feel like flying there NOW!!! 金先生你越来越过分了哦!! 哈哈怎么粉丝福利越来越好啊~!! 让我听了都吃不下饭了!! ㅋㅋㅋ!! 진짜~!!

Anyway this motivated me to write a post on my Shopping Trip to Korea!!! *Excited? Jumps around!* Last year was my third time to Korea. My first 2 times were with my family during winter~!! My mummy loves the snow~!! However, in 2011, I went on a free and easy trip with Joyelle in Summer!! I had my many first time there. First time going on a trip on my own, first time seeing Korea in Summer, first time taking the Seoul subway, first time climbing the never ending flights of stairs *I am serious!!! My legs were toned after a week in Korea~haha*, first time taking a Korea taxi, first time shopping…like crazy. *really no day no night*, and of course~ my first time having severely overweight luggages…I really don’t think I can finish all these in just one post so I will split them up in days.

Day 1: Our First Stop: 경복궁 (Gyeongbokgung Palace) and the National Folk Museum of Korea.

Haha, yes we did not just shop!! We visited tourist attractions too okay!!^^ Gyeongbokgung Palace is can be easily located by taking the Seoul Subway’s Line 3 to Gyeongbokgung Station. This is my 2nd time to the beautiful palace. Image

The top row of the photo shows the 돌 하르방 (Dol-Hareubang) also known as Grandfather Stone which is found only in Jeju. They are placed at the front of the gates to drive away evil spirits! Hehe^^ With this said, we must simply touch it to 驱邪 (Get rid of evil spirits!!)

We went inside the National Folk Museum and around Gyeongbokgung Palace. It felt like we 穿越 (went back to the past) *步步惊心~四爷若曦!!!* simply by walking through the historical architectures and understanding the history behind. Gyeongbokgung means “Palace Greatly Blessed by the Heaven” and it was founded in 1935 three years after Joseon Dynasty. It is located in the heart of Seoul and you definitely need to visit it at least once!

After Gyeongbokgung, we went for lunch!!! YAY FOOD!!! We had…비빔밥 (bibimbap)!!! 김치 (kimchi)!!! Bibimbap = Mixed Rice; is an authentic korean cuisine. It is made up of seasoned vegetables, rice, and egg~ and chilli pepper paste!! You stir them up evenly and wala!! It’s ready to be eaten!! Haha, this totally reminds me of the recent season of Hello Baby Mblaq with Lauren, Leo and Dayoung singing “Bulgogi, Kimchi, Bibimbap! Yes~Mblaq!” If you do not know what on earth I am talking about, please watch this! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8X6L_hbnRxsImageand a healthy Korean style steamboat with vegetables, glass noodles, pork and tofu!!!

Day 1: After Lunch Stop: 신촌 (Sinchon Station) where Ewha Women University is located. For? Shopping of course! From Sinchon Subway Station, you can easily see the streets to Yonsei University where stores, coffee shops, restaurants are located. Like branching tree roots, the numerous side streets diverge off the main road. In 1999 Yonsei College Street was designated as “The Road One Wants to Walk”. You can also enjoy the tastes of small food stands that line the sidewalks. I must say that you can bargain your way through the goods in these shops and I got myself good buys such as two bags, some clothes~

And of course, the highlight of the streets is Kim Hyun Joong! *laughs!* Okay it’s not, but how can I let go of any chance to take photos with him! Haha so there you go!

After shopping, we then took a short break at this Bakery “Paris Baguette”! What is better than enjoying a cuppa after shopping! They serve genuine good latte~ and we really enjoyed our take away!

and *Clap hands! Quickly clap!* haha, I love the below left hand side photo that I took so much. Artistic isn’t it? *Nodds Head!* Hahaha!

Time flew past us quickly and it was time for dinner! We had 삼계탕 Repeat after me: “Samgyetang” Korean Ginseng Chicken Soup! It is a korean delicacy. The chicken is stuffed with Korean ginseng, chestnut, glutinous rice, pine nuts, herbs~ Very nutritious and healthy~! I am sure you have had it before! If you haven’t, it’s a MUST TRY! Yes? Go eat it!

After dinner, we were getting a little tired already after a night flight from Singapore to 인천국제공항 Incheon International Airport but we wanted to treasure every second of our time spent in Korea so… after depositing our luggages at our hotel, we headed out to the 동대문(Dongdaemun) and shopped till 12am ~ Let me continue this in the next post! My eyes are shutting~!! ㅋㅋㅋTill then~ 안녕~!! Goodnight!!
